13th Air Assault Support Regiment RLC

13 Air Assault Support Regiment RLC is the Royal Logistics Corps logistical support unit of 16 Air Assault Brigade.

A proportion of 13 Air Assault Regiment personnel are parachute trained.

13 Regiment has served with 16 Air Assault Brigade in Iraq (Telic) and Afghanistan (Fingal and Herrick).

Reorganisation in 2013 resulted in Colchester based 15 Air Assault Close Support Squadron RLC being mothballed and 13 Air Assault Support Regiment now comprises:

Role of 13 Air Assault Support Regiment within 16 Brigade

13 Air Assault Support Regiment is to provide 2nd line logistic support to 16 Air Assault Brigade on Operations, in training and in barracks, as part of mandated contingent commitments or as Brigade troops, in order to provide support to Operations and the full spectrum of military tasks.

Mission Statement

13 Air Assault Support Regiment is to generate and command CSS (close service support) capability at graduated EHR/VHR (extreme high readiness and very high readiness) in order to provide ready forces for: AATF (Airborne Assault Task Force); support to the Army’s and Defence’s wider outputs; in extremis support to a Brigade multi-manoeuvre unit deployment.
