Lance Corporal Terence D Brown

Lance Corporal Terence Davidson Brown of 2 PARA and from Birnam, Perthshire, was killed in South Armagh on 7 April 1973. L/Cpl Brown died aged 24 years. He was laid to rest at Dunkeld Cemetery, Birnham grave number 52. He was killed by an IRA culvert bomb at Tullyogallaghan near Newtownhamilton, Armagh along with Pte Harrison. 

The following obituary notice appeared in the Pegasus Journal in July 1973:
"Lance-Corporal Terence Brown (MT Platoon) was killed in the same terrorist mine explosion as Cpl Steven Harrison near Newtownhamilton on the 7th April 1973. He was the driver in the leading vehicle of the mobile patrol. Terence, from Birnam, Perthshire, joined the 2nd Bn in 1966 and served the majority of time in the MT Platoon, where he reached the rank of Lance-Corporal. He was an extremely likeable, good natured and competent young NCO, who was a very popular member of the Platoon and the Bn. He was an excellent Parachute Regiment soldier and he will be greatly missed by everyone."
