"Jock" joined and passed Depot Para with 472 Plt in early 1981. He was posted to 2 Para and served with 1 Plt A Coy seeing tours in Kenya, Belize and the Falkland Islands where he was wounded in action.

After a short period away re-enlisted and transfered to the Army Air Corps where he served until retirement.

As a L/Cpl he served in the Ops Room and later as the RQMS of 5 Regt. As a Cpl he served as a Recruit Training Instructor in the Light Division Depot where he was promoted to Sergeant.

"Jock" completed 2 tours of Northern Ireland and 2 tours in the Former Yugoslavia, firstly as the SSM of 656 Sqn AAC and then as Acting Garrison Sergeant Major.

He was awarded the LS&GC Medal in 1997.

"Jock" retired from the service in 2004.
