Sergeant Thomas Cyril Bentley was a Section Commander in the Mortar Platoon Support Company, 10th Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
For his actions at Arnhem, Sergeant Bentley was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal, along with a Mention in Despatches.
