Private Thomas Bowes was the son of Thomas and Hannah Bowes, and the husband of Lilian Bowes, of Leeds, Yorkshire. He served with 2nd Parachute Battalion and took part in the North African campaign.
Private Bowes died on 30 November 1942, aged 32 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
