Robert George A Hart wasthe son of Robert and Lily Hart, of Lye, Stourbridge, Worcestershire and husband of Alice Hart, of Lye. He enlisted into The General Service Corps, was posted to The Royal Engineers and volunteered for airborne forces.
Private Hart successfully completed Glider training and was posted to 2nd Battalion, The South Staffordshire Regiment.
Pte Hart took part in Operation Doomsday. He died on 7 August 1945, aged 22 and is buried in Oslo Western Civil Cemetery.
