Dad never talked much about his Army service as he lost many colleagues at Arnhem. We do know he was involved with the glider operations. I have requested his Army service records but with ongoing operations, family research queries are obviously being given a low priority. As soon as I have more information I will update his records.

Dear Brian, I am sorry for contacting you via your father's page but I am trying to get a better understanding of the group photo that you posted. William Preston was in the 250 (Airborne) light composite company. He is my great Grandfather. He died in Arnhem during one of the final missions. Although I have little background information about him, I came across your group photo. One of the members (bottom right at the front) in the photo looks remarkably like my Grandad. I am trying to identify who it is. My great Grandfathers names is William Richard Preston. It is probably unlikely but if you have any information about the photo it would mean the world to my Grandad. Many thanks matt
