Peter Walsh commissioned into the RAOC in 1973 and posted to 16 Parachute Heavy Drop Company RAOC at RAF Hullavington. Passed "P" Company June 1973. He successfully completed parachute jump instruction on Course 778.

Peter Served in 16 Parachute Brigade including one year with 1st Battalion Parachute Regiment (Aldershot/Berlin) 1974/75 and Parachute Logistics Regiment 1975.

Subsequent service in RAOC including as ATO (High Threat IEDD) in Northern Ireland/Lebanon, Staff College, MOD and BAOR (Company Commander). Final tour 1988/89 as Company Commander Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). Retired as Major in 1990 and joined United Nations, served in former Yugoslavia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Mozambique, Libya. Awarded OBE for service in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1998.

Peter was awarded UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force Lebanon) and ECMM medal (European Community Monitoring Mission) medals.
