Kevin Gallagher, was the son of Frank and Margaret Gallagher, of Leeds, Yorkshire. He was commissioned into the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI), and then volunteered for the airborne forces.
2nd Lieutenant Gallagherl attended parachute course 39 at RAF Ringway from 27 November to 6 December 1942 and was posted 1st Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.
2nd Lt. Gallagher was Killed in Action on 28 March 1943, age 20 and is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
