John Thomas Ward enlisted into The Junior Leaders Regiment Royal Artillery in August 1974.
In 1975 he went to 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery (RHA) and undertook P Company and passed parachute training course 814 which ran from 5 January to 11 February 1976.
Gunner Ward served with G (Mercer's Troop) 7 PARA RHA until the regiment was redesignated as 7th Field Regiment RHA in 1977.
Gunner Ward left 7th Field Regiment RHA in August 1978.
