Signalman John K Dolphin

John Kenneth Dolphin was born in Leicester and lived in Nottinghamshire. He enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Signalman Dolphin successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and also glider training and was posted to HQ Airborne Troops Signals Section, Royal Corps of Signals, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sigmn Dolphin died of wounds, aged 18, on 6 October 1944 and was given a field burial in the Marienbosh Cemetery, Holland, and was re-interred to Jonkerbos War Cemetery on 14 April 1947.
