Jeffery Byford volunteered for the airborne forces from the Royal West Kent Regiment and was posted 11th Bn The Parachute Regiment. He was jump trained at RAF Kabrit on course 55.

Arrived back in UK 17 May 1945. Jeffery joined the Reserves 30 August 1948.
