Major Harold Jones

16 Aug 1945

Harold Jones, son of Joseph and Annie Jones and husband of Ethel Jones, of Poulton, Lancashire, commissioned in The Royal Army Ordnance Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Major Jones successfully completed Glider training and was posted to 1st Airborne Division Ordnance Field Park, Royal Army Ordnance Corps (RAOC). He took part in Operation Doomsday, and died on 16 August 1945, aged 37. He is buried in Oslo Western Civil Cemetery.
