Lieutenant George Wharton

Lieutenant George Wharton was the son of William and May Wharton, and husband of Clarissa Nina Wharton, of Southgate, Middlesex. He served with 591 (Antrim) Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers and took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.

Lieutenant Wharton died on 17 June 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now bureid at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
