Private George Leighton, son of James and Emily Leighton, of Tidworth, Hampshire, served with 5th (Scottish) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Italian campaign in the Winter of 1943-4.
Private Leighton died on 23 January 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Sangro River War Cemetery, Italy.
