Warrant Officer Class 2 Dennis Meads

Sergeant Major Dennis Meads was the son of William Arthur and Florence May Meads, and husband of Mollie Meads, of Worthing, Sussex. He began his military service with the Royal Artillery, before transferring to the 2nd Parachute Battalion. He was serving HQ of A Coy in late 1944 when he took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

He died on 18 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
