The farm where Pte Harold Smollan was buried in the garden until 1956, date unknown.

This is the location where Harold lost his life. He was buried in the garden by the Canadian troops who followed the 7 Para Bn advance to the bridge.
The farmer who owns the buildings now actually witnessed the explosion in April 1945 - he was only a child at the time, and he introduced himself to Jack Lockwood in 2005 when Jack retraced his path of Op Varsity.
