21.9.47 Sailed from Liverpool on S.S ORDUNA via Gibraltar and Malta. Disembarked Port Said 1.10.47. Then by train to Base Transit Camp, Suez.
11.10.47 Overnight train to Haifa and joined 8TH (Midlands Counties) Bn Para Regt at Afula 12.10.47.
10.11.47 154 Camp North of Haifa and joined 'A' Company as Acting Company Sgt Major. Duty at this location was to provide security for the three oil refineries, road blocks and patrols.
21.11.47 returned to Afula, took over officialy as A/CSM.
13/12/47 - Major riot broke out in Safad and 'A' Company went to restore order with 3 armoured cars of the TranJordan Frontier Force under command.
6.1.48   Camp 147 Haifa, where the 8th & 9th Para Bns amalgamated to become 8/9 th Bn. Carried out Bn duties, jeep patrols into Haifa and Bn Orderly Sgt.
15.1.48 163 Transit Camp Haifa.
17.1.48 Railway train to 156 Transit Camp, Port Said.
22.1.48 Departed onboard H.T. Slotterdyke (Dutch Troopship).
