2 (Airborne) Forward Observation Unit RA operated as part of 6th Airborne Division to direct and target artillery attacks.
The unit was redesignated as 334 (Airborne) Forward Observer Battery RA in 1947 while operating in Palestine and was disbanded a year later in July 1948.
