Private Wyndham H Fowler

Wyndham Harry Fowler was the son of Harry and Bessie Fowler, of Wilmington, Devon, he enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Private Fowler successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Pte Fowler was killed in action on 16 Jun 1944, aged 19, and was given a field burial in Le Mesnil and was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 31 July 1945.
