Rifleman Wilnor Crawford

Wilnor Crawford was the son of John and Elisabeth Crawford, of Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He enlisted in the Royal Ulster Rifles and volunteered for airborne forces.

Rifleman Crawford successfully completed glider training and was attached to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Rflmn Crawford was killed in action on 14 July 1944, aged 21, and was given a field burial in Breville, France. He was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 3 July 1945.
