William Woods from Ambrose Place, Liverpool enlisted for National Service in 1953.
He volunteered for airborne forces and once he had completed P coy and parachute training at Abington in June 1953, he was posted to Anti Tank Platoon,, Support Company, 2 PARA in The Canal Zone, Egypt.
Pte Woods was demobbed in 1955.
