Private William Telford, son of Margaret Telford, of Whitehaven, Cumberland, served with 7th (Airborne) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Private Telford died on 22 September 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
