Private William H Wall

Pte William H Wall served with 2nd Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment.

He landed in Arnhem as part of Operation Market Garden on 17 September 1944, as part of 12 Platoon, B Company.

After the withdrawal of the bulk of 1st Airborne Division  across the Rhine on 25 September, William successfully evaded capture by German forces until he could return back to allied lines.

I think he was one of the occupants of Horsa glider with chalk number 298 that made a failed landing at De Moer in Holland on 17 september 1944 and one of the Campina Airborne. his name is on a list of soldiers that were hid in the woods near Boxtel in the Netherlands.
