William Hubert Dancey was the son of Edward Charles and Mary Dancey and ward of Miss E. Brooks, of Keinton-Mandeville, Somerset.
Private Dancey successfully completed his parachute training on the 28 October 1944. It was noted that he had "good discipline and morale"
Pte Dancey was then posted to The 8th (Midland) Parachute Battalion.
He was killed on 20 April 1945 and is now buried in Hanover War Cemetery, Germany.
