Signalman William A Ford

William Alfred Ford was born and lived in south west London, he enlisted in the Royal Berkshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Signalman Ford successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted to, 1st Airborne Divisional Signals, Royal Corps of Signals and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Sgmn Ford was killed in action on 28 March 1945, aged 31, and was given a field burial at Dreveneck, Germany and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 30 April 1947.
