Private William F Rose

William Frederick Rose was the husband of Elizabeth Rose, of Plymouth.

He enlisted in the Royal Sussex Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces. Private Rose successfully completed his parachute training and was posted to Support Company, 10th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Pte Rose was killed in action on 19 September 1944, aged 35, and was given a field burial alongside Wekeromseweg, northwest of the La Cabine pumping station, Oosterbeek, and was reinterred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 20 August 1945.
