Wilfred Thomas Jeavons was born and lived in Staffordshire. He enlisted in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.
Sergeant Jeavons successfully completed Glider Pilot training and was posted to C Squadron, Chalk Number 913, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Sgt Jeavons was killed in action on 25 September 1944, aged 26, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing.
