Lance Sergeant Walter J Black

Lance Sergeant Walter James Black, son of James and Jessie Black, of Liverpool, served with 12th (Yorkshire) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord on 5-6 June 1944.

Lance Sergeant Black died on 6 June 1944, aged 29 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
