Corporal Walter Henry Hammond, son of William John and Emily Hammond, of Bekesbourne, Kent, served with 3rd Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign, during Op Torch.
Corporal Hammond died on 20 February 1943, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Massicault War Cemetery, Tunisia.
