Private Walter C A Easton

13 Sep 1914 - 26 Mar 1945

Walter Charles Albert Easton was the son of Charles and Lydie (Herne), of St Paul’s, Bristol, he enlisted in the Devonshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces

Private Easton successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Pte Easton was killed in action on 26 March 1945, aged 30, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln, Germany, and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 10 April 1947.
