Trooper Wallace A Hall

29 Apr 1923 - 18 Aug 1944

Wallace Albert Hall was the son of Wallace Albert and Lena (Earl) Hall, of Addlestone, Surrey, he enlisted in the Royal Berkshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Trooper Hall successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 61 from 19 April to 3 May 1943. His course report stated “Consistently good. Fine type”. He was posted to 2nd Special Air Service Regiment, Army Air Corps and took part in Operation Overlord (D Day landings).

Tpr Hall was killed in action on 18 August 1944, aged 21, in the Vosges region of France and is commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial to the missing.
