Driver Victor S Coles

Victor Stanley Coles was the son of George and Margaret Coles, of Bristol, he enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps, and volunteered for airborne forces.

Driver Coles successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and also completed glider training and was posted to 716 Airborne Light Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Dvr Coles was killed in action on 27 March 1945, aged 39, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 1 November 1946.
