Sergeant Victor C Fay

Victor Charles Fay was born and lived in Wiltshire, he enlisted in the Somerset Light Infantry, and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Sergeant Fay successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 41 from 3 to 17 December 1942. His course report stated ”A quiet and keen worker, above average”. He was posted to 7th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Sgt Fay was killed in action on 19 August 1944, and was buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
