Private Tom Gould

Tom Gould enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Gould successfully completed his glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Pte Gould was killed in action, aged 20, on 19/20 September 1944 and was given a field burial in an isolated grave 50 yards south of church at Oosterbeek, he was re-interred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 27 May 1946.
