Thomas Donald was the son of William and Martha Donald, of Belfast, Northern Ireland. He enlisted in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and volunteered for Airborne forces.
Rifleman Donald successfully completed his glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).
Rfn Donald was killed in action on 25 March 1945, aged 22, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
