Corporal Thomas Coates

Corporal Thomas Coates was the son of Thomas and Ada Coates, husband of Ivy and father of Thomas and came from of Whitburn, County Durham.

He served with 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Border Regiment and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

He died on 20 September 1944, aged 28 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
