Sergeant Theodore A Rubenstein

Theodore Albert Rubenstein was the son of Ernest and Annie Rubenstein, of Cardiff. He enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Rubenstein successfully completed his glider pilot training and was posted to E Squadron, 2nd Wing, Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sgt Rubenstein was killed in action on 22 September 1944, aged 21, and was given a field burial in a field west of the Hartenstein Hotel, Oosterbeek. He was re-interred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 15 August 1945.
