Captain Terence P W Rogers

Terence Patrick Walter Rogers was the son of Edward and Geraldine Rogers and the husband of Eileen Rogers, of Kilburn, Middlesex.

He was granted a commission and volunteered for airborne forces. Captain Rogers successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted as 2nd in command of A Company, 156 Battalion, The Parachute Regiment. He took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Capt Rogers was killed in action in the Lichtenbeek area on 20 September 1944, aged 30, and was given a field burial 50 yards north of Oosterbeek Hoog station beside Dreyenseweg, and was re-interred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 13 August 1945.
