Private Stanley Webster

Stanley Webster was born and lived in Sunderland. He enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Webster successfully completed parachute training and was posted to 16 Parachute Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps. He took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Pte Webster died of head wounds, aged 19, on 27 November 1944 and was originally buried in the New Cemetery at Lingen, Germany. He was re-interred to Rheinberg War Cemetery on 12 August 1947.
