Sergeant Stanley W Perry

Stanley Wood Perry was ths son of H. and Lillian Constance Perry, of Wordsley, Stourbridge, Worcestershire, he enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Perry successfully completed glider pilot training and also completed a parachute course at RAF Ringway, and was posted to 1st Wing, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Sgt Perry was killed in action on 6 June 1944, age 22, and was given a field burial at Le Bas Ranville and was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 12 October 1945.
