Gunner Stanley Jones

Stanley Jones was the son of William and W Jones and the husband of Elizabeth Jones, of Clifford, Hertfordshire. He enlisted in the Royal Artillery and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Gunner Jones successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2 Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Gnr Jones was killed in action on 26 September 1944, aged 32, he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
