Driver Stanley A Huggins

21 Sep 1944

Stanley A Huggins was the husband of Violet Huggins, of Richmond, Virginia, USA. He enlisted in Royal Army Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Driver Huggins successfully completed glider training and was posted to HQ Platoon, 93 (Airborne) Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Dvr Huggins was one of ten members of 93 Company who came in by glider. It is most probable that he was killed in action in the Osterbeek defensive positions on 21 September 1944, aged 28. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing.
