Scott Lovegrove joined the Army as a junior soldier in 1993, after passing out and completing combat engineer training he was posted to 33 Engr Regt (EOD) in late 1994. In 1995 he was posted to 22 Engr Regiment in Tidworth where Scott became an Armoured Engineer and completed a tour of Bosnia.

From there he was posted to 32 Engr Regiment in Hohne Germany. Where he spent 2 years before, during short career break from the Military in 2000 

Scott rejoined the Royal Engineers in 2001 and was posted back to Tidworth where he was promoted to LCpl and completed a tour of Kosovo and Afghanistan (Op Fingal).

Whilst at Tidworth he applied for Pre Para and P Company. Scott completed 23 Engr Regt (AA) and then loaded onto the next available P Company in October/Nov 2004. Prior to Pre Para he was selected for promotion to Cpl. Scott passed P Company on the 2004 course and was posted to 9 Parachute Squadron RE as section commander. During this time he was deployed on Telic 6 and Op Herrick 4 (with 3 PARA).

In 2007 he was promoted to Sgt and cross posted to 51 Parachute Squadron RE and deployed on Op Herrick 8 as A/SSgt. On return from Herrick 8 he was cross posted to 12 HQ Sqn and became a Patrol Commander with the Recce Tp. During this time Recce Tp deployed on Op Herrick 13 as part of the Brigade Reconnaissance Force supporting Pathfinder Platoon.

Post deployment Scott was selected for promotion to SSgt and was posted back to Germany to 32 Engr Regt to take position of Recce Troop SSgt. Whilst there he fell seriously ill and spent the next 4 years under a personal recovery unit and was medically discharged in 2015.
