Sergeant Roy Farrington

Roy Farrington enlisted into the General Corps at Canterbury in February 1944 and was then posted to the East Surrey Regiment.

He volunteered for airborne forces and undertook Parachute Training course 138 which ran at RAF Ringway from 16 to 28 October 1944. The course reports states: 'Pte Farrington: Average jumper. Confident and consistent.'

Pte Farrington was posted to 6 Platoon, B Company, The 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion.

He served on the Ardennes Campaign, The Rhine Crossing, South East Asia and Palestine. Sgt Farrington was demobbed from Palestine in 1947.
