Lieutenant Ronald L Tucker

Ronald Lewis Tucker was the son of Lionel Frank and Florence Edith Tucker, of Barnstaple, Devon; husband of Audrey Pearl (Stilliard) Tucker, of Barnstaple, Devon. He was granted a commission in the Lincolnshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Lieutenant Tucker successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Lt Tucker was killed in action on 8 August 1944, aged 33, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
