Signalman Ronald King

Ronald King was born in Dorset and lived in Kent, he enlisted in the Royal West Kent Regiment and volunteered for Airborne Forces. Signalman King successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway, on course number 106, from 6 to 16 March 1944. His course report stated “Good performer, very confident.” He was posted to J Section, 6th Airborne Divisional Signals, Royal Corps of Signals, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Sgmn King was killed in action on 24 March 1945, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln, Germany, and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 1 November 1946.
