Trooper Ronald Evans

03 May 1923 - 24 Mar 1945

Ronald Evans was the son of Robert Owen and Daisy (Bithell) Evans, of Bebington, Cheshire, he enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Trooper Evans successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway, and was posted to 6th (Airborne) Armoured Regiment, Reconnaissance Corps, Royal Armoured Corps and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Trpr Evans was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 21, and was given a field burial at Uden, Germany and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 22 October 1946.
