L Cpl Roland W Jones volunteered from the Middlesex Regiment to the Airborne Forces.
He conducted his parachute training at RAF Ringway. He was on Course 4, which ran from 17 December to 23 December 1941.
He went on to join The Parachute Regiment, AAC 1st Bn of the Parachute Regiment during Operation Torch.
He was killed in action on 26 November 1942. Aged just 21.
