Corporal Robert Wilson

Corporal Robert Wilson, son of Mrs Janet Wilson, of Gatehouse, Kirkcudbrightshire, served with 7th (Airborne) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

He died between 25-26 September 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.

Robert was my mother's only brother. He was among the last that died and was initially buried outside 'The White House' in Oosterbeek. He was subsequently relocated to the main cemetery. Brian Maxwell.
